Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I book your services for my wedding?
A: Simply email or contact the office, with the date of your event/wedding, the time, location, and the number of people that need services. We will confirm with you whether we have an artist available. Once your booking form and deposit has been received, your date is confirmed.

Q: Why do you take a deposit?
A: We take a deposit in order to secure your wedding date in our diary. Once your booking is taken and your deposit is paid, you can be sure that your artist is confirmed onto your booking and they will not receive other bookings for the same date.

Q: Do the Artists have insurance?
A: Yes. Our artists are covered with extensive public liability insurance.

Q: Do you travel to my location or do I have to come to you?
A: We provide a fully mobile service and your Artist will come to you. Your stylist will travel to you for your trial and on your wedding day, whether you're getting ready at home, at a hotel or another venue.

Q: What products do you use?
A: All of our artists and stylists have kits that contain a range of makeup from both professional and luxury brands. The Artists have a large variety of natural hair make-up brushes which are cleaned after each client and they uphold strict hygiene practices and use disposable applicators where necessary.

Some brands that you will find in our artists kits are: MAC, Illamasqua, Nars, Bobbi Brown. Hair products include Tigi, L'Oreal, Wella,Umberto Gianni, Tresemme, & Bumble and Bumble.

Q. What happens at the Bridal trial?
A:Your trial is a very important part of your wedding preparation. First you will discuss the details of your wedding including dresses, hair, flowers, theme etc. You will then discuss what make-up, if any, you normally wear and any ideas you may have. Your stylist will then create a look until you are 100% happy and absolutely love your Hair and Make-up. There is no set time limit for your trial. On average they take around 2 Hours for Hair and Makeup, but may be longer depending on the complexity of your chosen style.

Q: When should I have my trial?
A: Trials can be arranged once you have decided on your dress, theme and other important details of your wedding. Once you have booked with My Bridal Artist it's a good idea to have a trial, as that's another job to tick off your list. On average, we tend to carry out trials around 6-8 weeks before the actual wedding day.

Q: Why do I need a make-up artist on my wedding day?
A: Here are a few of the reasons why people get a make-up artist for their wedding.

>You are unsure what colours to use and how best to apply make-up for the photography.
>You want the Makeup and Hair Style to last all day.
>You may be too nervous on the morning of the wedding to apply your make-up or style your own Hair.

Q: Do you do Hair Extensions?
A: Our artists are happy to style Hair Extensions, we like to advise that you use the clip-in extensions so that your Artist can place them where necessary to the chosen style. Please Note- we do not supply Hair Extensions, however we can advise you on a fantastic supplier within the North West.

Q: Do you stay to do touch-ups until I'm ready to walk down the aisle?
A: Your artist will always stay with you until you are ready to leave for your ceremony (unless requested otherwise) to provide any last minute touch ups to your Hair and/or Makeup. We also provide a full day service, where you may want your artist to stay to do touch-ups or re-styles throughout your wedding day for yourself and your wedding guests. For full information and additional fees regarding this service, please see the the 'Book us for a Day' section on the website.

Q: Can you accommodate large bridal parties (i.e. 6 bridesmaids, flower girl, mother of the bride) in addition to the bride?
